I was beyond excited when I was asked to launch the luxury accessory range, Monogram by Amanda Wakeley. I’ve been an admirer of hers for many, many, many years and spent hours gazing in the window of her bridal boutique. She came to my attention when I got married in 1993 so when I think of Amanda Wakeley designs I always think of her striking bridal collections.
The Amanda Wakeley label was founded in 1990 with her flagship store on Albermarle Street in London – so new and exciting was she, that she was very much on the tip of everyone’s tongue in the fashion industry. Hers are great British designs with clean lines, impeccable cuts and elegance, all of which are merely extensions of Amanda herself. Many of you will know her glamourous evening cocktail designs, which were worn by some of the most stylish women in the world including the late Diana, Princess of Wales – as well as Beyoncé, Emma Roberts and Cat Deeley to name a few. In 2010 she was awarded an O.B.E. by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, for her services to the fashion industry and also has received three British Fashion Awards.
Amanda loves fabric and beautifully crafted pieces and this comes across in her Monogram collection, every bag uses the finest materials and latest crafting techniques to achieve perfection in every detail. Having an Amanda Wakeley accessories wardrobe now within our reach will help me to become what I’ve always aspired to be – a Wakeley Woman – chic, elegant and effortlessly stylish. I adore Amanda Wakeley’s luxury lifestyle brand and I am so looking forward to launching her range of handbags on Tuesday 27th September at 8pm. You know I simply adore (which is an understatement) my handbags and these are absolutely beautiful pieces of art and design.
I know we are going to get on a treat as she is not only an incredible designer – and you know how much I love fashion – but she is also a dog lover with a beautiful Labrador called Lola.
